What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is currently seeking a full-time Unified Communications Systems Manager to work in one of our offices throughout the United States (preferably Piscataway, NJ, Marlton, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, or Pittsburgh, PA). Remote work will be considered if within close proximity to a regional office. 

As the Unified Communications Systems Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and procurement, and then managing the installation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise voice and video communications systems and telecommunications services used by the organization. We believe that effectively implementing a future state Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) platform will dramatically improve the firm’s ability to collaborate to win work and deliver the work profitably.   • Support the planning, design, and procurement of the future state Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) platform offering
  • Manage the implementation of the UCaaS platform including required software propagation (soft phones) and hardware (hard phones) implementation
  • Manage the change management programming associated with migrating to the future state UCaaS platform including awareness campaigns, training, post-adoption knowledge resource development, and UCaaS migration initiative evaluation requiring ad-hoc travel to various offices throughout the United States and Canada.
  • Support the operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of a UCaaS platform
  • Interact verbally and in writing with internal customers and IT operations personnel in support of new or existing voice services
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedures in support of new or existing voice and video services
  • Use problem solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot new or existing voice and video services
  • Build, maintain, and promote strong technical documentation


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or specialized training & certifications in IT, Engineering or Project Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years IT support of voice technologies and related experience directly responsible for one or more of the following UC platforms: Verizon, Cisco, Microsoft, RingCentral, or Broadsoft.
  • Familiar with voice industry and UC best practices.
  • Basic levels of problem solving and analytical ability to analyze and manage voice configurations on a day to day basis.
  • Experience with implementation, operation, optimization, and how to secure different facets of the UC environment.
  • Experience with implementing, integrating, and supporting multi-vendor digital collaboration technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and SharePoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to interact with IT personnel on all levels to resolve issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing assignments and tasks to completion with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Voice Gateways (analog, digital and SIP) and dial plan design.
  • Understanding of Quality of Service (Campus and WAN).
  • Basic knowledge of routing and switching including Voice Gateway and LAN switch configuration and troubleshooting as it relates to the VoIP environment.
  • Experience developing short instructional videos.
