What You Will Do

Our Global Transit and Rail Business Line is currently looking for a Design Manager - Signalling to lead transit/commuter rail projects in the Western Region. Position could be based in any one our office in the region to include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle or Denver Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead and oversee the design of railroad signal systems for various clients in the region
  • Marketing and business development in the Western Region, focused on marketing Gannett Fleming engineering consulting focused in the design of transit and rail systems
  • Develops and facilitates technical presentations for internal audiences, clients and other stakeholders
  • Lead in developing and preparing proposals including coordinating with other team members for practice specific input
  • Collaborate with clients on the development of solutions to address technical and project challenges
  • Represent Gannett Fleming by attend public/regulatory meetings
  • Remain current with applicable technology, regulations, codes and standards
  • Author and create technical documents and presentations
  • Prepare or supervise development contracts and related documents for clients, sub-consultants, subcontractors and vendors which conform with in-house counsel requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering, Technical School, or related experience.
  • 15-20 years of professional experience with the following technologies: Micro Processor Extensive experience in signaling design and engineering management in an AEC firm
  • Working knowledge of signaling principles, circuits, components and the implication of working with other disciplines
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Critical Path Method Scheduling software is required.
