What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is looking for a Hydrogeologist for our Miami, Florida office.  The candidate shall demonstrate ability to apply experience and sound professional judgement and understanding of the Aquifer Protection Program for Underground Injection Control (UIC) as defined in the Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 62-528.  Knowledge of the hydrogeology of Florida and understanding of water use permit process. Candidate must be comfortable working in the field and in deadline driven environment and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.   The candidate is anticipated to communicate with clients, other consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders as directed by their supervisor.  The candidate is required for maintaining close communication with his/her direct supervisor on various issues and matters as well as on the status of deliverables and assignments.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology or hydrogeology discipline with 4 to 6 years of experience
  • Able to perform tasks independently and as part of project team with minimal direction and guidance of a supervisor, after instructions are given regarding general expected results and objectives.
  • Ability to exercise strong written communication skills in the preparation of reports, technical memorandums, field logs, and other documentation required for capturing project specific requirements.
  • Knowledge of Florida hydrogeology and general geologic concepts including aquifer testing, hydrologic monitoring, and soil classification, MITs, groundwater sampling, etc.
  • Must be able to oversee and work with other consultants and contractors (e.g., drillers, construction workers, surveyors, etc.) while performing field work
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Must be able to drive to project sites, and travel via air or land to other client sites should project requires. 
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Word™, Microsoft Excel™, and Adobe Acrobat Professional™

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in geology, hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Experience with Proliance or e-Builder tools and processes.
  • Understanding of groundwater modeling, including analytical and numerical models is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain professional licensing certifications once enough work experience is obtained.
