We (Gannett Fleming) are looking for an Electrical Practice Manager in our New York, NYC office.  Come join our team!!!!!

What You Will Do


  • Supervise and mentor electrical staff comprised of engineers and designers
  • Manage and regularly report on project performance, accruals and utilization
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines, business lines and offices
  • Perform quality work that promotes client retention
  • Manage business planning activities for the NY offices and participate in business development and capture strategies
  • Provide oversight for the design of electrical systems including: medium voltage / low voltage power distribution, stand-by generation, AC Substations, interior/exterior lighting for buildings, local area IT networks, access control, security and fire alarm systems
  • Serves as technical specialist in analyzing the components of electrical projects, establishing design criteria and executing design, which can include the management of tasks, projects and design staff.
  • Serve as Project Principal on select assignments and projects
  • Provide QA/QC reviews
  • Manage a broad portfolio of electrical assignments and/or projects, which will include K-12 education, commercial, manufacturing, water and wastewater treatment, transit stations and train/bus maintenance facilities


Minimum Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in consulting electrical engineering
  • PE in the State of New York
  • Candidate must have diverse facility experience, with a focus on Transportation, Infrastructure, and K-12 Educational facilities for City and State owners and operators, which include: MTAB&T, LIRR, MNR, NYCT, NYCSCA, PANY&NJ and NYCDDC
  • Proven experience to drive and manage Electrical Practice production and new business
  • Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security and communications
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills is required
  • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

Technical Familiarity:

  • Firm understanding of the New York City and New York State Electrical Codes, National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards and Energy Codes
  • Familiarity with using AutoCAD, Microstation and/or Building Information Modeling (Revit)
  • Experience with alternative project delivery is a plus
