Gannett Fleming is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team to support utility and power substation efforts within the West Region from our Phoenix, Arizona office. A successful candidate will be capable of leading, scheduling, and developing engineering teams within a multidisciplinary office environment. 

The growth and diversification of Gannett Fleming is a top initiative, on both a regional and national scale. The successful candidate will have experience on various automation projects including manufacturing, mining, process controls systems, and remote facility control such as electrical substation projects.

Qualifications

Technical Experience:

Experience with various control and data acquisition design functions including but not limited to:

  • PLC programming using IEC 61131Control system architecture/networking design
  • Control and relay panel design
  • Knowledge of major communication and I/O protocols
  • SCADA / HMI development
  • Process Historian systems including PI, Aspen, and GE
  • Batch process and PID loops
  • Commissioning support

Experience shall include the ability to assist in developing the following project documents:

  • Process Control Narratives
  • Cabinet design drawings and BOMs
  • Hardwired and software I/O lists
  • Schematics and Wiring Diagrams
  • Checkout/Commissioning procedures and lists
  • Develop controller logic
  • Develop HMI and OIT configurations

Experience with the following Software Packages is preferred:

  • Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, GE, Modicon PLC platforms
  • GE, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware HMI / SCADA platforms
  • Allen-BradleyRockwell Automation, GE, Schneider Electric OIT platforms
  • OSI PI, Aspen, GE process historians
  • Microsoft Office
  • AutoCAD

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s of Science Degree.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Arizona Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in design and engineering within power,  utility, or manufacturing industry.
  • Solid knowledge of the consulting engineering profession
  • Experience in the creation of quality technical solutions and the design delivery of major automation projects.
