What You Will Do

In capacity of Construction Manager, you will effectively lead, plan, direct, and manage staff and deliverables associated with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems with a focus in Commercial Rail operations. 
Participate in the conceptual development of construction and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation. In addition, you will manage project teams responsible to inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul facilities, track, platform, signals and other  construction requirements.   

Responsiblities Include:

• Oversee construction management, implementation of processes and the management of contractors.
• Provide construction management expertise, advising on area to include construction, implementation and constructability
• Required attendance at pre-possession planning meetings, construction/ implementation review meetings, etc.
• Evaluate the progress on site against the program and agreed milestones. Use this information to provide accurate updates to the project team.
• Lead review of long term scheduling effort and required deliverables needed for successful project execution.
• Undertake, or arrange for others to undertake, suitable inspections/ audits for the project works being managed in regard to safety, quality, environment, engineering/ design compliance, functionality, and commissioning.
• Maintain accurate records for the project works being managed and communicate information regarding construction management to the rest of the project team in a timely and effective manner.
• Review regular cost reports and utilize data for improving field productivity.
• Identify areas where a continuous improvement approach to construction management could bring benefit.
• Managing compliance with Customer specifications, requirements and standards for facilities and track inspection and measurement equipment.
• Oversee Operation of Commuter Rail Infrastructures; including track, right of way, bridges and buildings, signal and communication and work equipment.
• Provide support and insight in relation to Commuter Rail, Customer Service and Rail Operations.
• Communicate risks to stakeholders and project sponsors; escalate issues and risks for mitigation.
• Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients and vendors, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables. Facilitate regularly scheduled project meetings as necessary
