Gannett Fleming’s Construction Management Practice in New York area is currently seeking top-notch Construction Management Inspectors for water, wastewater, sewer and watermain projects Projects are located in the New York Metro area. New York City, NY




  • Performs on-site compliance inspection, quality assurance and progress monitoring, for conformance to specifications and codes.

  • Documents that construction is completed in accordance with contract plans and specifications, coordinates shop drawings, reviews material lists, and permits requirements.

  • Coordinates required materials testing.

  • Performs final inspection, prepares punch lists, and determines all items on the punch list are completed or corrected by the contractor.

  • Maintains and reviews comprehensive project records including daily diaries, documentation of construction workforce, equipment, and materials records, inspection reports, project photos, as-built plans.

  • Participates in Progress and Preconstruction Meetings

  • Completes daily report referencing quality control issues for the project.

  • Performs field checks of all “red-line” as-built plans to assure completeness of the plans


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline preferred

  • CMIT (Construction Manager in Training) is a plus

  • Experience with water and wastewater pipeline and treatment plant rehabilitation projects is require

  • Minimum 2 years of water and sewer inspection projects

  • Direct experience working with contractors in the field

  • Understanding of construction inspection services, including documentation preparation and control

  • Experience with quality assurance and quality control techniques

  • Effectively utilize computer and software systems for documentation and data management equipment

  • Skilled at reading and interpreting plans and contract specifications

  • Skilled at applying mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field adjustments.

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all project and team members (i.e., contractors, owners, sub consultants, designers, architects and fellow team members).

  • Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with varying and uneven terrain.  Stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, periodic weekend and night work may be required

  • Valid Driver’s license required
