What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is currently seeking a Mid-Level CAD Technician to work in one of our Pennsylvania (Camp Hill, Philadelphia, Valley Forge, Pittsburgh) offices or Baltimore, MD office. You will join a thriving engineering services support team enabling Gannett Fleming’s internal civil and structure engineering teams consulting for a wide range of public and private sector clients.  You will work as part of the team that provides technical support and innovative research into emerging 2D and 3D CAD software and tools. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the use of Bentley MicroStation to the company’s CAD users
  • Provide first person assistance to MicroStation users with CAD related questions and issues
  • Explore and promote the usage of advanced workflows utilizing features in Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and perform debugging and problem solving in the software
  • Create training materials related to supported CAD software
  • Deliver training related to supported CAD software in several formats:
    • Instructor lead
    • Short Webinars
    • Recorded Sessions
  • Define, create, and maintain DGN library, template, and other resource files
  • Assist in developing and documenting CAD standards and workflows, and the configuration and creation of software deployments for supported CAD software
  • Perform remote or in person software installs, as necessary
  • Coordinate with CAD Management on testing new products, processes, and standards
  • Travel to regional company offices upon occasion to provide support services

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience working with MicroStation and ProjectWise within an Architectural/Engineering environment
  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • Must have demonstrated and current direct experience with the process, workflow and use of Bentley MicroStation V8i and related Bentley CAD software
  • Experience with Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads/GEOPAK, parametric design and constraints, and point clouds and other forms of reality capture
  • Demonstrable history of identification, research, resolution of technical problems and support provided to end-users
  • Ability to document, track and monitor an issue to a timely resolution
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diagnostic and problem-solving skills as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to be “on-call” when other team members are unavailable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to travel to offices throughout the continental United States for short support trips on an as-needed basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other Bentley software including Descartes
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience with Autodesk, AutoCAD and Civil 3D
