What You Will Do

Our Transportation Practice is currently seeking a Bridge Practice Leader to work in our New York  office. This position represents an excellent opportunity for a talented engineering professional with a passion for assuming new challenges and winning.

As Bridge Practice Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Management of all aspects of the Bridge Engineering discipline
  • Day to day project / client management with a number of high profile projects and clients
  • Leadership and mentoring of engineers and technicians, ensuring quality control and risk management practices are followed
  • Business development and growing the group's professional engineering services
  • Establishing & managing network of contacts in NY Transportation Market among clients, agencies and potential joint venture partners

Successful candidates will have 20 plus years of progressive technical and management experience and up to the challenge of further developing the New York branch of Gannett Fleming’s award winning Bridge Practice. Applicants should be a professional engineer with a strong track record of success in leadership and business management.  Strong and diverse technical experience and project management in Bridge Engineering is required in addition to well developed and proven skills in the marketing of professional engineering services and client management.  Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects, while working with a wide variety of engineers, designers, technical and support staff.  Proven ability to effectively manage projects, administer contracts and control budgets, playing a key role developing the project budget and schedule, and ensuring these are adhered to.  Applicants should be entrepreneurial in spirit with the ability to plan strategically.   Preference will be given to applicants with direct experience and relationships in the New York market.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Civil/Structural Engineering or related degree. Advanced degree would be strongly preferred.
  • 20 plus years experience managing large scale bridge engineering projects in New York
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York is REQUIRED
  • Familiar with design requirements of NYSDOT
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
