What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is seeking an experienced Bridge Construction QA Manager to join a statewide QA team. This two (2) person team would travel statewide as directed by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), State Highway Administration (SHA), Office of Construction (OOC) to perform QA inspections in all phases of bridge construction from the beam seats up through the bridge deck pouring and curing.

Working knowledge of MDOT, SHA Standards Specifications for Construction and Materials is a must. Traveling throughout the state of Maryland is a requirement of this position. Weeks away from home may be required. The intent of this team is to review, witness, and provide comments to the project inspection staff as they inspect the contractor’s work on bridge superstructures. Reports will be generated by the QA Team and forwarded to the Project Manager for discuss with OOC managers.

Team members would work out of the Baltimore, MD Gannett Fleming Office.


Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 20 years’ experience in bridge build inspection or construction
  • Working knowledge of SHA specifications
  • High School graduate or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate is required
  • Current Mid Atlantic Regional Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) Certifications are preferred
  • Experience with Concrete (ACI) Field, Soils and Aggregate, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Field, and Pavement Markings
  • Temporary Traffic Control Manager (MOT)
  • Maryland SHA Erosion and Sediment Control Inspection (Yellow Card)
  • MDE Erosion and Sediment Responsible Person Card (RPC)
