What You Will Do

These are exciting times at Gannet Fleming and GFPDC! Our Design Build team is looking for a number of positions including a Superintendent to join our team!  We service a wide variety of clients and work on projects in multiple arenas including: Pharmaceutical and biotechnology, industrial waste, water/wastewater treatment,corporate, power/utility, commercial/industrial facilities.   As a result, successful candidates will have the opportunity to be lead or assist on multi-discipline projects on a local, regional and national level.   Consider joining our team and contributing to our on-going success while setting the pace of your career.

Our Piscataway, NJ office are seeking a highly-motivated Assistant Superintendent for industrial, corporate, pharmaceutical and biotechnology projects of various types and sizes; performs a wide variety of tasks related to coordination and management of process and construction; coordinates permitting; administers design and construction contracts; coordinates complex construction projects;

Responsibilities:

Initial responsibilities on renovation projects will include:

  • Manage and Execute the Procurement and Expediting Process of projects
  • Scheduling
  • Change and Cost Control and Management utilizing an anticipated cost report
  • Overall field management of subcontractors and vendors contracted directly to the company
  • Day to Day field coordination of all subcontractors/vendors, client and end users
  • Interaction and coordination with client’s representative
  • Safety and Quality Control
  • Closeout and Punchlist

Additional Responsibilities

  • Estimating and budgeting for new projects as well as scope changes
  • Assist with Bidding, Bid Leveling and Procurement
  • Develop Written Scopes of work for projects candidate will be managing
  • Assist and participate in Value Engineering exercises
  • Management of multiple projects for various clients
  • Management of field personnel assigned to projects
  • Constructability reviews
  • Assisting with future PDC and GF Inc. projects

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate should have experience working on projects as a General Contractor or Construction Manager (@ risk) this is not a “Resident Engineer, Inspector or “CM” position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline preferred; commensurate experience in construction projects including experience in planning, management, coordination and scheduling, and design-build work will be considered. 
  • 3-5 years of construction management experience.
  • Significant experience working on the construction of design-build facilities, owner’s representative positions, general contracting of various projects a plus.
  • Experience working in occupied facilities working closely with the client and the end users
  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project is required.
  • Candidates should be willing to commute to various project sites.
  • Opportunity to travel available
