What You Will Do






Gannett Fleming’s Construction Management Practice in New York area is currently seeking top-notch Construction Management Resident Engineers for water, wastewater, sewer and watermain projects.   Projects are located in the New York Metro area. New York City, NY and Woodbury, NY


 


Responsibilities:



  • Provide Quality Assurance and technical guidance

  • Conduct and/or facilitates construction meetings

  • Coordinate and manage inspectors and on-site personnel

  • Prepare/Review change order documents

  • Review/Approve monthly pay estimates with Contractors

  • Prepare/Review correspondence to and from the Contractors and owner

  • Assist Document Control staff with Contractor schedule compliance

  • Prepare progress reports

  • Prepare Substantial and Final Completion documents

  • Schedule and oversee testing agencies

  • Oversee maintenance of project records

  • Facilitate response to contractor Requests for Information

  • Coordinate equipment and facility start-up activities

Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications


 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline   

  • PE Required;   CCM desirable

  • Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

  • 10+ years construction experience

  • Experience working with NYCDDC, NYCDEP Nassau County and/or Suffolk County desirable.

  • Effectively utilize computer systems and software for documentation and data management

  • Read, analyze and evaluate construction schedules

  • Skilled at reading and interpreting plans and contract specifications

  • Skilled at applying mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field adjustments.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing inspection items and responsibly with all project and team memebers (i.e., contractors, owners, sub consultants, designers, architects and fellow team members).

  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with varying and uneven terrain.  Stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, periodic weekend and night work may be required

  • Valid Driver’s License
