Responsibilities

Currently, Gannett Fleming is looking for a Project Electrical Engineer to join our electrical engineering team in our Camp Hill, PA office. Overall responsibilities will include electrical design for various public sector facilities projects including water/wastewater treatment, federal DoD, transportation, industrial, and institutional projects regionally.

This individual will lead the preparation of electrical design criteria documents, electrical design directive drawings, electrical system calculations, electrical system technical analyses, electrical system contract design drawings, detailed specifications and performance based specifications for electrical power distribution and related systems. 

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Performing site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.
  • Collaborate with and provide support during construction activities to other engineering disciplines as needed. 
  • Lead and participate in meetings clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSEE, BSET, BSAE with Electrical focus is required.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) is required.
  • 10-15 years progressive experience in the engineering and design of electrical systems with medium to large scale public sector buildings, water/wastewater and facilities projects.
  • Strong Experience in the design of electrical systems including: both medium voltage and low voltage power distribution, stand-by generation, motor control centers and interior/exterior lighting.
  • Experience with local area IT networks, access control, security and fire alarm systems is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating electrical design with process controls and instrumentation for water/wastewater or industrial markets is a plus.
  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards and energy codes.
  • Project management and leadership skills, capable of driving the successful completion of projects is a plus.
  • Experience performing computerized short circuit, coordination & arc flash studies (SKM Power Tools or ETAP).
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) is required
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus
  • Experienced with facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, and construction activity support.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal and external staff across multiple locations
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
