What You Will Do

Our Piscataway, NJ office is looking for an IT Services Technician. Come join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for service and support of operations to meet corporate service levels within established guidelines. 
  • Conform to Gannett Fleming, Inc. ISO based standards of IT Service Management.
  • Participate in desktop support projects
  • Application installation, configuration and support
  • Configuration and maintenance of software, hardware and licenses
  • System administration (front end) for desktop and certain server applications.
  • Support area will consist of Piscataway and Newark, NJ, with backup support for our New York locations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expertise with Windows 7/8/10 operating systems – proficient at installing, configuring and troubleshooting/solving Windows 7/8/10 OS issues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Server /2012 and the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Working knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec preferable, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory preferable.
  • Experience with the CAD Design Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) preferable, but not required
  • Previous configuration and implementation expertise with the Microsoft Office 2013/2016 suite of products including Microsoft Outlook
  • Solid understanding of PCs, printers, multifunction devices, hardware maintenance and repair.
  • Identification, research, resolution of technical problems and support provided to end-users on a variety of technical application, system and OS issues.
  • Prior experience using a help desk ticketing system. 
  • Ability to document, track and monitor a problem/issue to a timely resolution.
  • Experience supporting networking devices including CISCO VPN and remote access
  • Expertise of smartphone and tablet devices including, but not limited to iPhones, iPads and Android-based devices
  • Experience with VoIP and voice mail support a plus
  • Customer facing role that lays emphasis on:
    • Ability to work unsupervised to complete daily IT tasks
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete in a timely basis
    • Communication Skills - Ability to communicate clearly and frequently with the immediate team, management and executives
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Team-work – ability to assist team members on various issues and be a team player
  • 3+ years working in a similar capacity in a small to medium team of IT Service Desk / Help Desk professionals. 
  • Self-motivated problem solver, intelligent, ambitious, team oriented player. 
  • Candidates must have excellent organization skillsinterpersonal skills, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate must be energetic, able to clearly communicate ideas and willing to be “on-call” when neighboring Computer Support Specialists are unavailable.
  • Local to “Home” office of Piscataway, NJ.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, or more.
  • Overnight travel to supported offices required, additional travel to other Gannett Fleming offices may be required.
