Responsibilities:

Gannett Fleming is looking for a construction phase Contract Administrator with direct hands on experience in large scale infrastructure projects in the transportation/transit and rail industry.

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated capabilities finalizing contract changes at a senior level on design-build contracts valued at $500m+.
  • Act as the owner’s senior field contract administrator, with assistance from the cost engineer/estimator, schedule, engineers and field inspectors, to assess entitlement/merit and quantum of contractor RFCs, etc.
  • Ability to challenge design-build contractor’s RFCs, letters, notices, etc.
  • Develop the necessary contractual responses in a timely manner with a goal of positioning the owner as a pro-active leader rather than reactive responder to design-build contractor submissions.
  • Negotiate equitable adjustments to contract value that are fair and favorable to the owner.
  • Develop and implement commercial management systems and procedures for processing RFCs, Field Orders, Change Orders, etc. for a design-build contract, with the ability to integrate these into the owner’s established procedures and practices.
  • Must be able to manage change and ambiguity on a fast moving project and where necessary achieve the best/pragmatic commercial resolution in a timely manner.
  • Be a team player and comfortable with partnering principles and best practice.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree e.g. in Engineering or Construction Management Required, preferably with strong commercial/contracts training.
  • Fifteen (15) plus years of experience leading/managing construction contracts and change orders for large scale heavy infrastructure project preferably in transportation and/or transit and rail
  • Experience with Construction Management Software such as P(6)
  • Be familiar with document management systems, ideally Aconex or similar.
  • Extensive experience in a variety of contract management concepts, practices and procedures
