What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is seeking a Coating Inspector to inspect coatings on bridge projects to work out of our Rocky Hill, CT office. Projects will be throughout CT.  Working under the direction of a Construction Manager/Project Manager, the Coatings Inspector will be responsible for performing arm's-length inspection of coatings removal and coatings applications while applying Coatings industry practice, construction management, environmental and safety regulations knowledge.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Interface with the Construction Manager/Project Manager on all coatings facets of the project.
  • Perform daily construction inspection of work activities.
  • Complete daily reports, quantity calculations, and reports for construction work observed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education and experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma and minimum of 2- 5 years’ experience with paint inspection work
  • Must be Certified by NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 1 (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred) or Certified Bridge Coating Inspector(BCI) by SSPC Level 1 or 2
  • 2-5 years’ experience as a construction inspector working on CONNDOT bridge projects highly desirable
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must be physically capable and willing to work outdoors and climb bridge superstructures
  • Must have the ability to work efficiently with little supervision
  • This position requires travel and varied working hours
